EP CD (2008)
Crystal Antlers CD discography The six-song debut from this California album is a wild ride through classic psychedelia and contemporary prog-rock, filtered through chaotic elements of punk and hardcore that have come in between. But what's unique about songs like "Owl" and "A Thousand Eyes" is that they pack so many ideas into relatively short, three-to-four-minute songs, harnessing the concise energy of the alt-rock era while wrapping it in dense layers of warbled vocals, guitar feedback, dense organs, and feverish bridges. If EP is their ostensible DIY beginning, it will be worth waiting to hear their evolution on an actual full-length.
Personnel: Jonny Bell (vocals, woodwinds); Andrew King (guitar); Victor Rodriguez (organ); Kevin Stuart (drums); Damian Edwards (percussion).
Recording information: Closer, San Francisco, CA; Infrasonic, Los Angeles, CA; The Compound, Long Beach, CA.

Two-Way Mirror CD (2011)
Crystal Antlers albums After delivering one last album to Touch & Go before the label closed its doors, Crystal Antlers kept plugging away with Two-Way Mirror. Since 2009's Tentacles was a self-recorded record as well, the production is unchanged, and the band maintains its sense of style and its psychedelic/garage tonality. The biggest difference with this album is in Jonny Bell's voice. He has evolved into a tuneful singer, albeit a raspy one, and only breaks into a shriek for a few rocking numbers, which are all found on the first ...

Tentacles CD (2009)
Crystal Antlers music CDs TENTACLES is a woozily psychedelic album that crosses so many genres that it fits neatly into no particular sub-field: the prominent fuzztone organ suggests both snarling garage rock and Pink Floyd-style space rock, while Johnny Bell's shrieking, hoarse vocals owe more to hardcore and ...

 Crystal Antlers Biography
Crystal Antlers CD discography Artist is an indie rock six-piece from Long Beach, California, led by singer and bassist Johnny Bell. Equally influenced by first-wave garage and psychedelic rockers and those who came after (from My Bloody Valentine to the Brian Jonestown Massacre), Artist debuted with a self-released 2008 EP. It attracted enough attention that the venerable Touch and Go label reissued the EP later that year, followed by the band's full-length debut TENTACLES the following year.
