Hidden Stash 4-20 CDs (2009)
Brokencyde CD discography With a successful independent label and clothing line (Suburban Noize), and a massive following in the punk and rap underground, Kottonmouth Kings have built something of a mini-empire within Southern California's "dropout" culture of skaters, surfers and stoners. Part of a weed-themed odds-and-sods compilation series that's appeared with Cheech & Chong-like predictability since 1999, HIDDEN STASH 420 is a two-disc collection that features 25 brand new tracks alongside 15 unreleased songs from the group's prodigious catalog. Brokencyde Biography
Self-described "scene" kids from Albuquerque, New Mexico, Artist (as in "broke inside") mix pop-rap, dance music, and some screamo vocals into a love-it-or-hate-it brew dubbed "crunk punk." They debuted in 2007 with The Broken!, an album that bounced between intense screamo dance songs and emo power ballads with a bit of rap. In late 2008, the Suburban Noize label signed the group and released the BC 13 EP. Their lyrics were still filled with sick jokes and emotional outbursts, but the music was now much more polished. The EP also contained the single "Freaxxx," which would reappear on the band's 2009 album, I'm Not a Fan...But the Kids Like It! ~ David Jeffries
