You Just Never Know CD (2001)
David Chapman music CDs
"You Just Never Know" is a collection of original songs featuring acoustic guitar, bass, percussion, harmonica, recorder(really!) and voice. David Chapman is a musician with eclectic tastes. This shows up in the original songs he plays. Some of his influences are Hendrix, Dylan, Neil Young, Phil Keaggy, SRV, Bach SR, Vivaldi, Steve Howe, rock, blues, jazz, classical, folk... He doesn't sound exactly like any of these but if you listen you can hear how they have affected his playing. David plays solo acoustic guitar, harmonica and sings. He says, "The guitar is a band in a box. I try to make it produce as many sounds as possible all at once. Making it sound musical and tasteful is the art of it". A common question after his concert is, "How did you do that"?
"You Just Never Know" has been called, "sometimes dark but hopeful"... "surprising"... "a great alternative"... "a real independent"... "a voice in the wilderness"... "hope in troubled times"...This is a collection of songs with passionate lyrics that demand ...

The rare studio recordings range in influences from Dizzy Gillespie to ...

Berlin Tapes/Boxes CDs (2002)
David Chapman discography THE BERLIN TAPES is an album of cover songs. BOXES is a ballet score commissioned of Davies and Bob Kretschmer by the Sydney Dance Company and first performed in 1985.
Berlin Tapes collected Icehouse's most recent new recordings, although why it is credited to Iva Davies & Icehouse is a mystery, as they are effectively one in the same (even Davies has difficulty differentiating the two). Like Boxes from ten years previous, this is a ...
