Lindi Ortega albums Blessed with a voice that suggests the high lonesome purity of Dolly Parton and Emmylou Harris with an undertow of smoky sophistication, Artist is a Canadian singer and songwriter who has become a rising star on the North American alt-country scene. In 2001, Ortega self-released her first album, The Taste of Forbidden Fruit. A second LP, Fall from Grace, appeared in 2007. Ortega released two EPs in 2008: Artist and The Drifter. Two years later, she signed with Last Gang Records, who released her album Little Red Boots in 2011. ~ Mark Deming
