They're very much of their time, of course (there's a bit of vintage post-"Shaft" wah-wah guitar), but thanks to strong songwriting, terrific production by the veteran team of Gamble and Huff, and, of course, Lou Rawls' consistently soulful singing, there's still plenty here to admire.
