In the tradition of such fab mockumentaries as THIS IS SPINAL TAP, WAITING FOR GUFFMAN, and REAL LIFE, Griffin Dunne's LISA PICARD IS FAMOUS is a very funny parody of the New York acting scene. Dunne intercuts scenes of Lisa and her best friend, Tate Kelly/ Kelley (the character's name is spelled both ways in the film; the role is played by coscreenwriter Nat DeWolf), with comments on fame by such famous people as Buck Henry, Carrie Fisher, and coproducer Fisher Stevens.
