The "Giselle" ballet was approximately 150 years old in 1976. An extremely proficient cast provide wonderful support to Augustyn and Kain, making this one of the greatest productions of "Giselle" ever performed. With Frank Augustyn and Karen Kain among the leads, this was a stunningly evocative rendition of the popular opera, which was thankfully captured on camera for posterity. So it was a fitting tribute to the production when the National Ballet of Canada took to the boards in that year for this lavish production.
