U.K. release. CD contains 8 bonus tracks. Booklet contains liner notes and lyrics to all the songs. Includes the singles "Name Dropping", "Fun City", "Beverley" and the acknowledged Punk classics "Love And A Molotov Cocktail" plus the title track. Personnel: David Freeman (vocals, guitar, acoustic guitar, slide guitar); Neil O'Connor (vocals, guitar, 12-string guitar, keyboards, tambourine); Joe Hughes (vocals, guitar); Vance Anderson (vocals, tambourine, percussion, background vocals); Mike Finesilver (vocals, percussion); Wild Willy Barrett (violin, fiddle); Ken Freeman (strings, synthesizer); Lyn Dobson (saxophone); Pete King (drums). But they did self-release an EP, included here as bonus tracks, the cherry on this tasty sundae of mod-ish power pop. With the Flys best sampled via a "best of" collection that sweeps away the chaff with which they surrounded the handful of classics that assured their immortality, this reissue of the group's debut album goes at least some of the way toward fulfilling that ideal. The Flys were one of the "graduate" bands of the 1978 punk rock scene--they played fast, loud but tuneful, witty, and short, and WAKIKI BEACH REFUGEES, from the same year (rereleased 2001), was their sole testament.
