Personnel: Patryk Zwolinski (vocals); Sebastian Rokicki (guitar); Szymon Czech (bass guitar); Krzysztof Bentkowski (drums). But unlike most other grindcore acts that don't stray too far from the stylistic path, the Antigama fellows aren't afraid to get a bit artsy fartsy at times, as evidenced by the soundscape "Sequenzia Dellamore" and the schizoid jazz exploration "Paganini Meets Barbapapex." Throughout Warning, Antigama certainly succeeds in keeping the listener on their toes throughout. The four members of Polish grindcore bashers Antigama unleash an unsurprisingly furious assault. "Disconnected" operates like an atomizer that fuses Krzysztof Bentkowski's double-time speed-drumming to Sebastian Rokicki's groove-based death riffs, before they blow apart in menacingly tense contrast, only to re-converge once more and pummel. On WARNING, Antigama have also significantly upped their production values, putting them in a league with contemporary metal artists like Disfear and Plague Bringer. Hailing from Poland, these extreme metallists crank the metronome as far as it can possibly go on the non-stop onslaught of an album opener "Disconnected" and continue to let things rip on such breakneck ditties as "War," "Heart," and "You Have the Right to Remain Violent," among others. Boy oh boy, you expect grindcore bands to offer lightning-fast tempos, but Antigama's 2009 release, Warning, is ridiculous! WARNING serves its title well, and the larger legacy of grindcore brutality. Obvious influences on the album's blast beats, growling vocals, and manically unpredictable arrangements span their sub-genre's roughly two-decade history, from Napalm Death to Coalesce.
