Rob Thomas Biography
Led by Artist, Florida pop rockers Matchbox Twenty became hugely successful with their 1996 debut album, YOURSELF OR SOMEONE LIKE YOU. Before they had a chance to follow it up, Santana's 1999 SUPERNATURAL album became an even bigger smash, due in no small part to the Thomas-sung single "Smooth." Nevertheless, Thomas never abandoned his group for solo stardom. He did make his solo debut with 2005's SOMETHING TO BE -- which did very well -- but he always kept Matchbox Twenty going as his top priority.
