Submarines Biography
Submarines songs John Dragonetti and Blake Hazard began their careers in the early 2000s as solo artists. After Dragonetti produced Hazard's 2002 solo album, the couple soon became romantically involved. But, by the time they were readying their debut as the Artist, the relationship dissolved, and the two actually recorded the album from separate locations. However, they resumed their romance and eventually produced the lush indie pop-cum-shoegaze of 2008's HONEYSUCKLE WEEKS. The record received a wellspring of attention after the buoyant, Spoon-esque single, "You Me And The Bourgeoisie," was heard in an iPhone ad. A co-headlining tour with friends the Morning Benders soon followed.
