After their 1998 formation, New Jersey emo pioneers Artist wasted no time in building a faithful local audience, which increased exponentially following high-profile support slots for established acts like At The Drive-In, Hot Water Music, and even the Cure. After releasing a well-received independent debut album, WAITING, Artist signed to the hardcore label Victory Records in the early 2000s, cementing their reputation with 2001's deceptively complex FULL COLLAPSE.
