$11.35 Within a month the band was in the studio recording their demo. Shortly thereafter, they began playing at hometown venues in Columbia, S.C. such as Banana Joe's, Uncle Doctors, New Brookland Tavern, and Sundance, where they were the winners of the Summer 2002 Channel 93.5 Locals Live competition. They have played region and national festivals including 3 Rivers Music Festival and S.C. St. Patrick's Day Festival in 5 Points, and shared the stage with many national acts including Social Burn, StereoMud, Unloco, Seven Mary Three, Tantric, ShineDown, Brand New Sin, Crossfade, Saliva, and Diecast. With influences including Disturbed, Godsmack, Sevendust, Cold, and Tool, Pain In Life brings an uncompromising edge to their genre. Pain In Life is currently the largest drawing hard rock band in their hometown of Columbia, S.C.When Pain In Life takes the stage, they're known for an energetic, abrasive, and in your face live show that is rare in the local scene. With varying styles and taste in music, the combination produced a raw, original dark style of alternative rock. Initially a collective of musicians interested in becoming a successful cover band, the group played together for a short time without any direction before toying with the idea of original music.
