$16.45 He lives the life of a troubadour, with a vocal style that reminds fans of early Todd Snider or a sober Townes Van Zandt, but yet uniquely his own He has paid some serious “Buskin’” dues on the sidewalks and coffeeshops of Israel, New Zealand, Vietnam, Ireland, Holland and more, as well as the bungalows and pirate bars of the Virgin Islands and Thailand. Gann Brewer has been traveling the world since he graduated from college, playing tunes by John Prine, Woody Guthrie and sharing the songs he learned from Ramblin’ Jack records on every street corner he could. In 2007 he met Nancy Apple in Memphis and recorded the songs that have become Gann’s Ringo Records debut.

$16.45 She sings in a rich alto her mostly self-written (and mostly co-written) songs of love and lust, and while the arrangements are bluesy, they are also played by a mixture of acoustic, electric, and synthesized instruments. Carroll calls herself a blueswoman, and so she is, in the sense that Bonnie Raitt and Maria Muldaur are blueswomen. The album title Delta Techno signals that Memphis-based singer and pianist Sandy Carroll is singing the blues against slightly unusual instrumentation.
