Long Island-bred Artist matched driving pop-punk/emo sounds with witty lyricism on their 2001 debut album, YOUR FAVORITE WEAPON, and in due course, they'd earned a big enough following to land the follow-up a home on a major label. DEJA ENTENDU showed the band growing by leaps and bounds, greatly expanding their sound and their production aesthetic. Their third album, THE DEVIL AND GOD ARE RAGING INSIDE ME, continued the progression, mining a darker vein and sporting more sophisticated songcraft.
