Gabrielle Aapri was born in Bathurst, Australia to Texan parents. The youngest of four daughters, she exhibited an uncanny ability to imitate whatever she heard musically. As a nine-month-old infant, she could hum the pitch of the doorbell or kitchen mixer. By the age of four, Gabrielle began her formal piano studies at her mother's studio. By the age of eight, she had composed her first piano solo. Gabrielle received her first KORG keyboard at age 12 and began composing music with an early version of Cakewalk at age 15. As a young adult, Gabrielle Aapri spent two weeks in Edinburgh, Scotland at the Ian Tomlin School of Music. While there she studied under two-time Emmy-award winning composer Hummie Mann, of the Pacific Northwest Film Scoring Program.
