Filmed in New York in 1982, when hip hop was still in its infancy, STYLE WARS documents a number of young graffiti artists who were transforming the city with their unique art. These artists created a new visual language that was borne out of the hip hop subculture and, using the city's dilapidated subway system as a canvas, let the rest of New York know about it. Unfortunately, graffiti meant vandalism to Mayor Ed Koch, the NYPD, and the MTA, all of whom did their best to oppose the burgeoning movement.
STYLE WARS has become a cultural emblem and ranks among the best hip hop films ever made.

DJ Ampz AKA MIXALBUM AMPZ, a 22 -year old mix album and turntable assassin coming strait out of Mount Vernon AKA MONEY EARNIN NY. Cee, Funk Flex, and Clue to name a few, he finally created his own style of dee jaying. With the demand to hear more and also with inspiration from the hottest Dj's, Ampz decided to release his own mix tapes into the streets of New York. With numerous influences ranging from Jam Master Jay, Kid Capri, Red Alert, Mr. Throughout the years as he became older it became more than a hobby he would soon turn what most of his family members considered as "making noise" into an occupation. Having hosted college campus parties in dozen of states, and some local spots up and down the east coast, he has generated a tremendous amount of notoriety. After learning his craft Ampz was ready to address the public and showcase his abilities. Determined to learn what he saw Jam Master Jay doing in the Run Dmc classic Walk this Way video featuring Aero smith, he focused all of his free time after school learning to mix, and scratch. Ampz discovered his love for the art of deejaying at the age of 8 when he stumbled upon his uncle D-Rock's set of Technics and immediately became mesmerized.
