In September 2005, As Yet Untitled released their long awaited debut self-titled album in Sacramento. The disc crosses multiple musical genres while maintaining consistent themes about life. "Since we recorded and produced the whole thing ourselves, it was an opportunity to allow each song to have its own personality," said lead singer Tommy Sellers. The intro track kicks hard with the riff-laden and political "The Man" and flows gently into "In Between" which features a somewhat gypsy flavored signature sax riff. "Each song is like a different mood," said Sellers. The parting song "Bring it On" features a country style piano while radio-friendly "All Fall Down" is somewhat of an acoustic rock anthem. "As Yet Untitled" is their third effort, their previous release "Becomes You" was produced by veteran producer Mark Dearnley (AC/DC, Mother Love Bone). Becomes You was included in Music Connection Magazine's top ten list of demos submitted that year. Their single "Across the Water" from their first CD "Soon to Sound What Where" received considerable airplay on KWOD 106. 5 in Sacramento. In 2003, the band won the Zone 100. 5's Battle of the Bands and opened "Day in the Zone" with the likes of Macy Gray and Hootie and the Blowfish. With the exception of drummer Jerry Barton, the band retained its original lineup from the Becomes You effort. Mike Simpson plays lead guitar with Mykal Nelson on Bass and Jim Jones on Saxophone.

Dianne Eclar Let It Fall Let It Fall is the new CD by Manila-born, sixteen year old singing sensation Dianne Eclar. After having lived in the D.C. area for ten years, Dianne has returned now to the Philippines to complete her education and pursue her singing career. The lyrics for the title track, "Let it Fall," were written by Dianne when she was thirteen. Along the way, Japanese pop star Angela Aki contributed two stellar songs "What Can I Do?" and "It Is I" while other tracks include the Joni Mitchell classic "Both Sides Now," and the spiritual "Sometimes I Feel Like a Motherless Child." Two songs are sung in Dianne's native Tagalog language: "Himig Natin" (Our Hymn), and "Kay Sarap Pala" (How Good It Is). Contributing musicians include bass player extraordinaire Dave Marsh, guitar wizard John Albertson, tasteful drummer Coleman O'Donoghue and Jazz saxophonist Peter Fraize. Carey Creed, Dianne and Elise added the vocals.

This CD is a contemporary Christian music album utilizing several styles such as Pop, Traditional Gospel, Reggae, Smooth Jazz, Classical and Straight ahead Jazz. The audio track (The Second Coming) is a straight ahead jazz piece featuring Richard D. Parker on Tenor sax, Bass and Drums, Martha Parker on Keyboards, Christopher Washington on Guitar. The Sax lead was done in a style reminiscent of Dexter Gordon. We decided one day to tell our own story through song. The songs we wrote were written from our personal experiences. We sincerely hope that you hear something that moves you.

Christmas Music

Many bluegrass musicians have incorporated contemporary elements into their work, Jim & Jesse, the Osborne Brothers, and Mac Wiseman among them., but Krauss's contemporary bluegrass contains particularly heavy doses of pop, folk, and modern country. Whatever style she chooses, her flawless voice and her crack Union Station cohorts usually maintain a high standard. The instrumental "Little Liza Jane" and the traditional "I'll Remember You, Love, In My Prayers" prove their instrumental chops, and songs like "No Place to Hide," with an impressive fiddle turn from Krauss herself, effectively mold modern elements into the bluegrass idiom. However, others such as "It Doesn't Matter" and "Deeper Than Crying" have very little to do with bluegrass at all. A mostly solid contemporary-bluegrass album, except when the contemporary drowns out the bluegrass. --Marc Greilsamer
